The Youth Entrepreneurship and Innovation Multi Donor Trust Fund (YEI MDTF) powered by the African Development Bank Group (AfDB)accepts proposals or projects to help Africa’s youth and women-led startups.
The YEI MDTF’s objectives align with the AfDB Ten-Year Strategy (2013-2022) to help start-ups on the African continent. The YEI MDTF is looking to better Africa’s economy through accelerated investment in African youths. The YEI MDTF is seeking to promote the creation of sustainable jobs for young Africans by equipping youth and women-led startups.

Goals of the Africa Grants for Youth Entrepreneurship and Economic Growth Fund
- The YEI MDTF seeks to increase inclusive employment and entrepreneurship in Africa.
- The fund YEI MDTF will help develop skills for job creation and strengthening of human capital.
- The YEI MDTF seeks to create durable labor markets in Africa.

Eligibility and Requirements for the Africa Grants for Youth Entrepreneurship and Economic Growth Fund
- You should be registered in an African country as a services provider, financial intermediary, philanthropic foundation, non-governmental organization (NGO), African government institution, or research or academic institution.
- You should have a track record of providing services to youth-led startups in African countries for a minimum of three (3) years of training, mentoring, and coaching.
- You should be able to provide a previous three (3) year audited financial statements.
- You should be able to demonstrate a robust monitoring and evaluation of systems in place.
- You should be able to provide fiscal accountability and transparency in all your operations by having a Board of Directors and a full-time experienced finance manager.
- You should have experience managing donor-funded projects/programs.
- You should be able to have immediate access to a large number of youth-led start-ups.

What You Stand to Gain from the Africa Grants for Youth Entrepreneurship and Economic Growth Fund
- You will be eligible to apply to YEI MDTF grant resources in support of youth-led start-ups and will be able to access the YEI MDTF network.
- You will be eligible for a total funding of USD 5 million. With a project or proposals for activities and programs with a minimum total budget of USD 500,000.
Duration:
Proposals or projects that are eligible must launch within 3 months of the grant award signature and be fully implemented within 12 months thereafter.
Location for Implementation:
The proposals or projects that are eligible must be implemented in more than one (1) country over the implementation period and preferably cover at least two (2) regions in Africa.
Application Deadline: All proposals or projects are to be sent before the 25th of October.
