Through a collaboration between the Lagos State Government, specifically the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF), and Tech4Dev, has provided a Digital Skills Nigeria Training Program. the Training program has been established to educate and empower 100,000 residents of Lagos in essential digital skills for the 21st century. The training aims to equip individuals with the necessary knowledge and abilities that will prepare them for the demands of the modern digital era. Lagos residents are encouraged to seize this opportunity and gain valuable tech skills that will empower them for employability.

About Digital Skills Nigeria
Digital Skills Nigeria (DSN) is a program established by Microsoft as a multi-year, multi-stakeholder partnership involving private, public, and non-profit organizations. The main objective of Digital Skills Nigeria (DSN) is to enhance the capabilities of key government ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) in Nigeria to provide sustainable and scalable reskilling and employment services that align with the local labor markets.

The program specifically focuses on offering digital skills training to young individuals in Nigeria aged between 16 and 35 years. The program covers a wide range of training from basic digital literacy to advanced skills. Digital Skills Nigeria DSN is implemented through collaboration between Microsoft, the Federal Ministry of Communication and Digital Economy, Tech4Dev, as well as various private and public sector stakeholders.

Program Objectives
Digital Skills Nigeria aim will be achieved through two key areas such as:

  • Enhancing Institutional Capacity
    To Strengthen the capabilities of federal government ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) and also to effectively provide skill development and employment services by enhancing the technological expertise within the civil service.
  • Enhancing Youth Employability
    It will Empower and enhance the employability of the youth population, addressing the issue of unemployment and underemployment by equipping them with relevant skills and knowledge for the job market, thereby reducing these challenges nationwide.

The Digital Skills Nigeria Basic Digital Literacy
The Learning Path of the Digital Skills Nigeria program offers individuals the chance to obtain a certified recognition of their competency in Basic Digital Literacy. Through the Basic Digital Skilling segment, participants can acquire valuable skills and knowledge in the digital realm, ultimately leading to the attainment of an endorsed certificate in :

The Advanced Certification segment of the Digital Skills Nigeria program offers specialized training and industry-recognized certification in various fields. Participants have the opportunity to acquire expertise in the following specializations, thereby enhancing their career prospects:

  • Security Administrator (MS-500)
  • Azure Data Scientist (DP-100)
  • Azure Security Engineer (AZ-500)
  • Azure Administrator (AZ-104)
  • Azure DevOps Engineer (AZ-400)
  • Power BI Data Analyst (PL-300)
