They actively seek out and propose imaginative ideas, projects, and business ventures that tackle the most significant challenges faced by their communities. Whether you have just started developing an idea or have a fully-formed plan you can apply for the Social Shifters Global Innovation Challenge.

Eligibility
The Social Shifters Global Innovation Challenge is open to individuals who fall within the following categories:
- Participants must be between the ages of 18 and 30 years old.
- Individuals who demonstrate leadership qualities, innovative thinking, and entrepreneurial spirit are encouraged to apply.
- Applicants should have fresh and creative solutions to address the most urgent social and environmental challenges faced by our world.
- In order to participate in the Social Shifters Global Innovation Challenge, your idea must align with at least one of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The SDGs are a set of global objectives aimed at addressing various social, economic, and environmental challenges to achieve a more sustainable future for all. You can choose to submit your idea under one or more specific SDG categories that your solution addresses. You can also choose to submit your idea for consideration in one of the special challenge awards provided by Social Shifters Global Innovation Challenge.
Special Challenge Awards 2023
Social Shifters Global Innovation Challenge 2023 offers several special challenge awards to further support innovative ideas in specific areas.
- Refugee Challenge (Supported by Amazon):
This award focuses on ideas that aim to assist refugees and empower them to lead settled lives. - Climate Challenge (Supported by Rathbones):
This award is dedicated to ideas that accelerate the transition to a net-zero carbon future. - Education Challenge (Supported by Fitch Group):
The Education Challenge award seeks ideas that promote universal access to free and high-quality education. - Water Challenge (Supported by CEMEX):
This award is centered around ideas that address the global issue of safe and affordable drinking water.
How to Apply
To apply for the Social Shifters Global Innovation Challenge, please follow these steps:
- Click on the Social Shifters Global Innovation Challenge application link to Apply.
- Register by providing the required information.
- Once registered, you will receive an email asking you to verify your email address. Click the link provided in the email to verify your email.
- Log into the competition platform using your credentials.
- On the main page, you will find the submission process for your idea. Fill out the necessary information and provide all the required materials.
- All materials submitted must be in English. Ensure that your idea description and any accompanying documents or videos are provided in English.
- While it is not mandatory, it is strongly recommended to submit a video pitch of your idea. In the video, you can introduce your team, explain the problem you are addressing, present your idea, and highlight how it can make a positive impact. The video should be no longer than 90 seconds.
